You smell. Often. It makes me gag.
Were you born this way? Or did you have a tragic incident as a child?
I was bored with this conversation before you finished your first sentence.
That dress makes you look like someone’s grandmother.
Your boyfriend is a jerk and he hits on me when you are in the bathroom.
If you relate one more conversation to the scriptures, I am going to lock you in the closet.
Stop eating! It is constant and disgusting.
Your mother needs to solve her own problems rather than calling your cell every five minutes.
If you have a test to study for, why the heck are you at a dance class?
Please stop complaining about your homework, I could have completed it in Middle School.
That dress makes you look like a whore.
If you were any dumber, I am pretty sure you wouldn’t have lived past childhood.
I really hope you don’t reproduce.
My bedroom is not a hallway.
Don’t talk to me while I am in the restroom, it gives me the creeps.
If I were you, I would wear longer skirts.
There is such a thing as overindulgence.
No one cares what your dream was about.

I haven’t listened to a bit of this conversation and I still don’t feel as if I have missed anything.

Book of Virtues

For my History/Philosophy of Education class we are required to keep a book of virtues for two weeks. Never heard of a Book of Virtues? What? How dare you! It was, after all, a much loved task of Thomas Jefferson who thought that every one should constantly be making progress.

Here is the short and short of it:

You pick some vitrues that you think you need to work on. (We chose ten). And for any amount of time that you deem reasonable you try and use those virtues and to be perfect examples of them. Thomas (Yes we are on a first name basis) did this his whole life. So far, I have remembered for three days. Anyway, each day you mark down which of your chosen virtues you did well with and which ones you totally broke. Then you write yourself long meaningful entries about each virtue and why it is important and what it means and how you can be better.

Yea.

Here are my virtues:

Order – All things have their place.
Frugality – Waste nothing
Industry – Always be employed in something useful
Moderation – Avoid extremes. Especially in eating
Cleanliness – Be clean in body, mind, clothes, and habitation
Tranquility – Be undisturbed by unavoidable accidents
Caution – Avoid rashness
Confidence – Faith in oneself
Forbearance – Restraint, Patience

10. Gratitude – Being thankful

So far I have not managed to show forbearance, but otherwise it is going very well. Perhaps I will become a better person after all. Or at least get an A.

The Courage to Do What is Pleasing

I talked to the boy I have a crush on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, it was for like two seconds. But I have been trying to work up the courage for several weeks. He sits behind me in humanities. And we will call him Boy with Arrows (BwA). So everyday BwA comes in with a set of really nice arrows sticking out of his backpack and sits right behind me. He is really tall, really skinny, and a total geek. Which is pretty much exactly what I look for in a boy. And being able to shoot is always a perk.

Anywho, I turned to BwA at the end of class, when we were packing up, and asked what level of shooting he did and he said he was an advanced student. I told him I was too and that I had just bought a bow. He was excited and asked what kind of bow, weight, etc. We talked until I finished packing up (which you can bet I was doing very slowly…).

Im so happy! Courage!

Roommates…

No, it is not usually this messy

So I am on my second set of roommates (No, I did not scare the first away). People always tell you, “Roommates are weird” and “It’s just one of those experiences you have have at some point in life.” or even, “It will prepare you for marriage.” Here is what I think:

Why the heck do we do this to ourselves???!?!?!? Seriously. I could have lived without the experience. And I sure as heck am not marrying some stranger so hopefully I will be a little more prepared to live with my husband instead of three random strangers.

Here are ten things I could have lived without ever happening to me:

Random men puking on my floor at 12:30 at night.
Girls wandering around in their underwear/ naked
Listening to “Party in the USA” at least 6 times a day
Always, always having to deal with someone’s PMS
Girls constantly complaining about the men in their lives
Waiting two hours to use the bathroom or wandering to the building with a bathroom.
No silence, privacy, peace, or comfort.
Single beds that are 5′ off the ground. Who thought this up?
Constant visitors. If you aren’t socializing, you are wasting your time.
Very poor repair work that has to be redone every month.

In fact, having roommates can be spectacular. Like, once a week. So here are the ten best things about living with roommates that you met the day you moved in:

Spontaneous dance parties
There is always someone to do your hair and makeup for a date
Everyone is just as poor as you
Really good clothing advice
Chick flick marathons
Laughing your head off at 2 AM
Roommates getting asked out/ engaged/ married
There is always someone to talk to somewhere
You can buy really fun pets to decorate because you are in college and expected to make silly decisions.
They hate the guys you tell them to hate because they love you

Sorry! I know that you all have waited with bated breath for another post and have spent the last seven months in despair as you could not keep up with my life. So, no I have not died and yes I did lose my password and account information. Luckily as I perused my many folders of saved emails I found a saved email from WordPress telling me my account information! So lucky for you all, I am back and I am making it a goal to keep posting!!!! This is the plan!

WordPress just deleted my whole three page post. I am leaving the site before I throw my computer through the window.

A Very Merry Birthday!

It’s official, I’ve now reached 18. Adulthood. Responsibility. But I’ll stop playing with my dictionary. The whole day was amazing, and it started at 12:01 with my very first Happy Birthday well-wisher (Morgan won everybody). And though i spent the following hour talking to a rather cute boy, I did not get to register for my classes as my Internet was having a fit. However, when i awakened at 8 (AM!) I managed to get into six classes (English, History, Pre-Calc, Book of Mormon, Archery, and some kind of Art thing) and I may even have time for a social life, but it’ll be a tight fit. Momi, Bapu, Remus and I then went for a hike which was very cool ( not in the literal sense, it was actually quite hot out and we had to wear a bit of sun screen.). Remus especially enjoyed getting to be out and about, but she got very tired toward the end. Then some people had donkey’s in their yard when we were walking by their car, so i stopped to take a picture with them because i like donkeys. But i was totally scared of them because maybe they were trained killer donkeys, so i stood out of their reach. When we got back we had cake and then Heather (ito-san) and Steve suggested we go to Meadowbrook fun center, which i haven’t been to since elementary school. It was way more fun thanI remembered, and I remembered it as pretty fun. We decided to do everything; Mini-golfing, Batting cages, Arcade, Go Karts, and the Bumper boats. It was sooo much fun. Although Steve kicked our trash at Mini-golf and arcade games. The batting cages were very frightening. Very. A bat feels like an incredibly dangerous weapon in my hands. I feel like you should need a license for that kind of power. The arcade was fun, I had never really played those kinds of games before so it was all new. I have a deep love for spider stomping now. (Not real spiders though! Morgan says you shouldn’t kill something unless you plan to eat it and I think of that when i squish spiders now.) The go-karts were scary, and i sucked at driving one. I am incapable of making turns apparently, especially speedily. I’m just glad I’m better at driving a real car than I am at driving a tiny, fake one. The bumper boats were a lot of fun, but we got totally soaked. We had the attendant lady take pictures of us having fun, which she seemed to think was odd. ( the picture taking, not the fun.) Over-all a great day. Oh and I got great presents! Almost forgot about those. I even got the rice cooker I have been wanting for college. An exceptional day. But now I need sleep because it is midnight here and I was up until one last night and up at eight. I am a slacker. An eighteen year old slacker. Who had a great day.

A Potter-tastic Party

I know you all wanted to meet the ladies and their tiny men. In order, the ladies: Jenessa Markland, Liz Smith, Mindy Anderson, and Melina Markland. The men (I’ll get close-ups later): Severus Snape, Draco Malfoy, Voodoo dolly (we call him Voldie), and Lucius Malfoy. Jenessa and Melina threw an awesome Harry Potter party before moving out of their old apartment. We had cockroach clusters, butterbeer, chocolate frogs, and much more, it was truly Pottertastic. (By the way, this is the way us true fans spent valentines day.)

A beginning

Having finished my career as a Davis High School student, I feel the need to finally post the beginning of Draco-holic. I suppose I must introduce myself. I am Elizabeth and I am a Potter-addict. I dress as Draco, read about the characters, make Potter-themed memorobilia, and carry a Draco doll. Eventually you will be introduced to the whole cast of us who carry these dolls (of my making), but at this time I do not have a picture of of all of us. For the time it is enough to know that I am whole-heartedly obsessed with Pottertopia.

I am 17, 18 in 11 days, and about to embark my first adventure, college. Join me and Draco for the adventure of a lifetime.
